Applesauce Salad

Applesauce Salad

This is a really quick sweet side dish that could accompany many meals. In the picture I simply paired it with a Waldorf recipe. Even the kids will love this tasty salad.

Ingredients:

  • 1 small package Cherry Gelatin
  • ¼ cup Cinnamon Candies or Red-Hots
  • 1/2 cup Boiling Water
  • 1 pint Applesauce

    Directions:

Dissolve the Gelatin and Cinnamon Candies in the boiling water. This might take 5 to ten minutes for the candies to dissolve completely. Don’t get the mixture to hot, just a gently boil not a roiling boil. Remove from heat, and cool for 5 minutes.

Stir in the applesauce. Now chill for at least an hour.

This is going to set up and could be made in a Jell-O mold or individual molds to serve on top of a romaine leaf or something like that. Great also serve as a side dish.

You might want to put this in a cake pan before you chill it and cut it into squares before you serve. Wonderful make ahead of time salad.

    Three simple ingredients.
