Honey Basil Vinaigrette


Honey Basil Vinaigrette is a fresh herb dressing that goes wonderfully over a Caprese salad of tomatoes and mozzarella cheese, or any mixed green salad.

Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 4 teaspoons water
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 4 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh basil

    Directions:

    Combine all the ingredients except the basil in small bowl. Whisk to blend well.

    Add finely chopped basil and place in covered salad cruet. This dressing is best served immediately, but can be stored up to two days in the refrigerator. It will store longer if you do not add the basil until ready to serve. Shake well before serving.

    Note: Use your favorite honey in this recipe, it can be a flavored variety like clover honey.
